about

‘Way Down Here’ is the follow up to Simon Jefferis’ latest single, ‘Easy’ and his debut project, ‘SJ’s Pocket’s’, which was released back in September and warmly welcomed all round.

“Way Down Here was actually inspired by my commute to and from work a couple of years ago. I wanted to make something that would help keep me chill while walking through London on my way home. I’d always hear lots of cool sounds while walking so I took a microphone out one evening and recorded my walk down Oxford Street which started it all really.
Then I met Austin Paul Jr at my best friend’s wedding in Florida. I heard him playing the sax in the band and told him that he had to get on one of my beats! This is the first collaboration since then and he smashed it.... my boy went IN!

I thought it would be cool to make a film of us playing all the parts. With hip-hop music, there are so many different ways to produce beats, so to share some of the behind the scenes I think is really interesting. I hope others get a kick out of it too!"
